The GTScuba course at Georgia Tech provides a comprehensive introduction into the sport of recreational scuba diving with a focus on the mastery of diving fundamentals and priority to safety. During the course, you’ll participate in five classroom and five pool sessions.
Meeting the requirements of the classroom and pool work will qualify a student for an Open Water certification experience with a certified PADI instructor. Successful completion there will result in an industry recognized and accepted certification at the level of Open Water Diver.
Venturetrek schedules several instructor led trips throughout the year and qualifying students can register for any of these.
Please note that class size is limited to 10 students.
COURSE MATERIALS & TRAINING EQUIPMENT- Students will each receive the PADI Open Water Crew Pak(imperial version) and use of diving equipment required for the class.
PREREQUISITES Participants must demonstrate a basic swimming ability (200 meter swim and a 10-minute water tread), be at least 12 years old (must be accompained by a parent if under 16), meet the medical requirements associated with diving and have a genuine desire to learn about the amazing sport of SCUBA diving..
